“S&K is the stickers on your headphones, it’s a hand sewn pouch as your purse, it’s hand painted flowers on your travel mug, it’s Sunday mornings, it’s a quick cuppa at home in bed before work, it’s journaling your heart out, it’s crafts you did with your mum growing up, it’s bunches of florals from a market, it’s buying your friends art, it’s gingham sheets on the line, it’s forehead smooches and the sun kissing your skin – S&K is embracing small moments and the embodiment of girlhood rituals.”

Ken is a local artist, illustrator and poet/writer.

Kendall started S&K with her twin sister – Shelby. When they initially began the brand, they made clay jewellery and textile art that was organic, bold, unique and playful. Her body of work evolved into painting homewares, designing stationery, and accessories. Ken’s art style evolved as she evolved with the things that she needed in her life (a to-do list for work, a funky laptop case, mugs for her daily dose of caffeine), the kinds of things that brought her joy and kept her company within her 9-5.

Ken’s always loved the beauty behind organic shapes and elements and fell in love with painting florals – she has refined her core flower designs which you will see scattered across their collections.

She found her love for making art, writing poetry, and fixating on tactile mediums. This love for creating has allowed her to have made so many connections with other creatives and even ended up with lifelong pals (to the point where a particular trio has matching rat tattoos). S&K grew with her in her 20’s and will continue to grow with her, it has helped her through girlhood and continuing to reconnect with her inner child.

S&K reflects the celebration of being a girl and embodying femininity while also leaning into the playfulness of what your younger self would enjoy. They pay homage to girlhood throughout everything they do and aim to make art for the trinket girlies (you know who you are).
